100 Mile Challenge

At the beginning of the 2017-18 school year Mr. Holtke personally challenged every K5 student to run or walk one-hundred miles during their recess / lunch periods over the course of the school year. Students are recognized with bronze, silver and gold medals for reaching milestones of 25, 50 and 75 miles. Students that complete the 100 Mile Challenge are awarded a technical running t-shirt as “bragging rights” for completing Mr. Holtke’s challenge. To date, 200+ PVSEA students are actively participating in the challenge.

To capitalize on the running movement at PVSEA, “Fitness Fridays” were created where Mr. Holtke run with all interested K8 students during their lunch periods on Fridays. Put on those running shoes and athletic apparel and join him.
