Dear Pleasant Valley School of Engineering and Arts,

I am proud to introduce myself as I step into my new role as Interim Principal. I have had the privilege of
having an office at PVSEA for two years now, and I've been a support to PVSEA working alongside the
teachers and staff for the past five years. It is truly an honor to continue serving Pleasant Valley School of
Engineering and Arts in a position that allows me to deepen partnerships with families, educators, and
school leaders in support of student success. Working alongside our Assistant Principal, Ms. Argo, I will
continue the wonderful programs and events that make PVSEA a safe and strong community for our
children.

Part of my support at PVSEA has been checking in with students before school, during passing periods
and being out at nutrition and lunch time. I look forward to this each day, and to listening to all of the
amazing stories they have to share with me. Continuing our Cougar recognition awards, middle school
assemblies and maintaining a safe and positive environment will remain a priority.
My experience as an elementary teacher (K-5), English Language District Coordinator, middle school
assistant principal, elementary principal, AVID District Director, and now Special Projects Coordinator, has
shaped my perspective, focus, and commitment to continuously strengthening programs to ensure that
all students can succeed. As a former PVSEA parent, I have a strong understanding of our PV Engineering
and Arts community which helps to shape my work with students, families and staff.
I bring deep passion and experience in curriculum development and instructional design to this role,
including developing curriculum at both the elementary and middle school levels. It is my goal to support
teachers with ensuring learning experiences are engaging, rigorous, and responsive to student needs. I
am fortunate to work closely with teachers in grades TK-8, regularly on implementing AVID strategies and
other research-based instructional strategies that benefit all learners, including our multilingual students.
Supporting teachers with lesson planning to intentionally embed these strategies is a priority in my work.
Another key focus of my work has been strengthening parent and family engagement across our district.
This includes coordinating and supporting the All About Parents Series, the Parent University Institute, and
working closely with our parent liaisons at our Title I schools. I look forward to continuing to grow our ELAC
at PVSEA and encouraging families to participate and feel welcomed when coming to campus or
communicating with our staff. I strongly believe that when families are informed, supported, and
empowered, our students thrive.

I am deeply committed to learning alongside our educators, listening to our families, and supporting
systems that foster equity, access, and success for every learner.
I look forward to a smooth transition, working closely with staff and families and continuing our Cougar
Pride here at Pleasant Valley School of Engineering and Arts.

With gratitude,
Christy Jimenez
Interim Principal
